Lamp beads

Lampworking is a specific type of glasswork that uses a gas fueled torch to melt rods of clear and coloured glass to make beautiful and unique glass beads. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by shaping with tools and hand movements. This labour intensive technique became very popular in Murano, Italy in the 14th century and for centuries the lamp beads are also made by Bohemian artisans in Jablonec nad Nisou area in the Czech Republic.
